Take a look at what Treetops has to offer - Virtual Tour
"Our mission is to inspire students to climb to new heights in service, character, and education by creating a positive, safe community."
Treetops International School was founded as a private school in 1969 and converted to a charter school in 1998. Our mission is to foster intellectual development and academic achievement by providing a school centered around challenging interactive learning experiences that consistently bridge traditional disciplines. Essential to the achievement of this mission is the establishment of a community of learning -- a community built upon the values of personal responsibility, consideration for others, respect for the environment, and academic integrity. Treetops supports the belief that education is a shared responsibility and family involvement is an essential component to the educational process. The campus has been developed as a more natural and nature-oriented 20 acre opportunity for learning.
School Tours are posted on the calendar and fall mostly on the 1st Thursday of each month.

Class Room Size
The average class size is approximately 17 students per teacher.
Treetops School uses the cooperative approach to partner with parents in sharing the responsibility to promote educating the whole child. The TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) is used as the core curriculum. TEKS guidelines can be found on Texas Education Agency’s website, http://www.tea.state.tx.us.
Student achievement is available at all time through the Parent Portal feature on txGradebook. The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) is administered to 3rd-12th grade. TPRI is administered to Kindergarten -2nd grades. Campus wide benchmark testing is school-wide at the beginning, middle and end of the school year.
Admission will not be based on gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic, artistic, or athletic ability, or the district the student would otherwise attend.
Treetops School is a Texas Open Enrollment Charter School. There are no eligibility requirements for enrollment in Treetops. As required by the Education Reform Act of 1993, the school employs a Lottery Enrollment to admit students. The term "lottery" used here means that when more students apply for admission than can be accommodated by the maximum enrollment, students must be chosen from the pool at random for all the available spots.
Students enrolled in the charter school do not have to reapply every year, but must return an enrollment packet every year by the date designated on website and enrollment application. After assigning all grade levels to returning families, open enrollment will commence for any available openings. If the deadline is missed by a returning family, they must go back into the lottery process.
Pre-admission enrollment forms are located on the website, www.treetops.org, and in the office. Information requested on the pre-admission enrollment forms are: student name, date of birth, current grade enrolled, grade applied for, city, zip code, county, current school name, school district, years attended, two contact names and phone numbers. The following question is asked: Does the student have any documented history of a criminal offense, juvenile court adjudication or removal to an alternative education program for cause of expulsion?
Enrollment pre-admission forms are numbered when the numbers are placed in an envelope for each grade level. As an opening occurs for that grade level, a number is drawn; the family is notified via phone, mail and or email.
Treetops admission policy adheres to TEC. 12.111(6) which requires that a charter school’s admission policy include a statement that the school will not discriminate in admissions based on gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic, artistic or athletic ability, or the district a child would otherwise attend.
Treetops does exclude admission from all students with documented histories of a criminal offense, a juvenile court adjudication, or discipline problems under TEC Chapter 37, Subchapter A as authorized by TEC. 12.111(a)(6).
